One of my favorite educational technology content creators I follow is Emily Karst with Joyful Noise Teaching. She is passionate about utilizing AI for educators and gives many tips in lesson planning, organization, and resource creation. I chose to explore the AI tool she shared called QuestionWell.
Big Idea: This AI website specifically created for teachers allows users to create a question set using any parameters entered into the generator. Users can either ask for a question set on a specific topic such as verbs, or, they can input text such as a reading passage and receive a question set. Users can also upload a video or attachment to pull questions from. In the example shown below, I prompted QuestionWell to create a question set reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives for 2nd graders.
What I Learned: I learned that the question sets can be generated into a multitude of platforms, as shown below. This is a game changer when it comes to teachers saving time on creating their own content on these respective websites. The options are pictured below:
I also learned that the question sets can be generated into games specifically made for QuestionWell, which include a gameshow, interactive quiz, or even a worksheet to print out. Those options are shown below:
I was curious about the pricing options and included that information at the link below.

Key Takeaway: QuestionWell is a “design studio that puts teachers in the driver’s seat while AI does the heavy lifting.”
I find this quote from the website powerful, because it encourages the use of AI to help teachers be as effective as they can in the classroom each day.

Connection: Students in my classroom absolutely loved gamification platforms such as Blooket, Kahoot, and GimKit, and were constantly asking me to play these games. Although these platforms often have pre-made question sets, there were times in which I wanted something more specific to the curriculum or content that I was teaching at the time. Therefore, there were times in which I chose not to utilize these platforms, even though they encouraged student engagement. QuestionWell is a perfect solution to this problem I had in the classroom. At my previous school we often used stories in a magazine called StoryWorks. I could easily see myself uploading the online version of the StoryWorks text we were reading and having QuestionWell generate questions to go with the text. There are endless possibilities I could use with QuestionWell and am excited to use it in my future classroom.
